Hylton Castle Ale

The Hylton/Hilton family were first recorded brewing Ale for the convent at South Shields in 1364 A.D. when it was recorded that "John de Hylton were farmers of the Brewery. The tenants were all bound to buy their beer at the Conventual Brewery at Scheles" Now recreated using a unique combination of hops from the north of England it is a real ale with a distinctive flavour.
